Prerequisites and Curriculum

The CSUF Master’s in Economics program requires students to complete 30 to 33 units of coursework with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Students may choose a thesis exit track or a comprehensive examination exit track.

Cal State Fullerton’s economics graduate program has prerequisites. Please visit the University Catalog for more information on the prerequisites and course descriptions.

Admission Requirements

The economics master’s degree requires students to submit the following:

  • The GRE exam is not required for admission for applicants with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and at least a 3.0 GPA in Calculus.
  • Professional résumé
  • Statement of purpose
  • Official transcripts
  • International students must also take one of the following three tests:
    • TOEFL: minimum 550 (paper), 80 (IBIT)
    • IELTS: minimum 7
    • PTE: minimum 65
    • Duolingo: minimum 120
