Curriculum
As a Full-Time or Part-Time MBA student, you will take a total of 43 units of coursework — 22 units of foundation core coursework, 18 units in concentration courses and three units in the MBA capstone course.
Concentrations
The following concentrations are available for the Cal State Fullerton MBA programs:
Accounting
The accounting concentration best prepares you to contribute to the financial success of organizations. While gaining a broad background in business, this concentration will provide conceptual and technical knowledge of accounting theory principles with application in topics like budgeting, auditing and taxes in a business environment.
Cal State Fullerton's business college is one of only five schools in California and the only school in Orange County that is accredited by AACSB International in both business and accounting. We're also a preferred recruiting school for the Big Four accounting firms.
Information Systems & Decision Sciences
Business analytics marks the intersection of management information systems and decision strategies. Businesses of all sizes rely on databases, business modeling and analytics tools to improve decision-making and achieve company objectives. As a student in the business analytics concentration, you will learn to effectively manage, store, clean, process, analyze and visualize the massive amounts of data that characterize modern business.
Upon graduation, you will be armed with the critical thinking and strategic analysis skills needed to measure data and create successful business models. Prepare for a bright future by choosing a concentration in business analytics.
Information Systems ConcentrationTo effectively capitalize on information assets, modern organizations need a combination of hardware, software, infrastructure and highly trained personnel. Experts with the knowledge and skills to manage these resources are in high demand at companies in almost every industry. By pursuing the information systems concentration, you will learn to leverage IS and IT to facilitate organizational planning, control, coordination and decision-making.
Finance
Finance encompasses the management, creation and study of money, banking, credit, investments, assets and liabilities. As a student in the MBA program with a concentration in finance, you will learn about financial systems, including the role of both public and private institutions. It is a diverse field encompassing investments, corporate finance, insurance, real estate and financial institutions. Regardless of economic conditions, there will always be a strong demand for financial literacy.
You will develop skills in financial decision-making and learn about the role of financial institutions in the overall economy. Coursework in this concentration will prepare you to play a critical role in this ever-changing field.
Risk Management and Insurance ConcentrationCal State Fullerton's business college has the only MBA program with a risk management and insurance concentration in California. Risk management is the process of identifying, analyzing and either accepting or mitigating uncertainty in decision-making.
Traditional risk management and insurance deals with hazardous risk. Enterprise risk management deals with risks in financial actions and decisions. Prepare to make an impact in modern business strategies with this concentration.
Management
The human resources concentration promotes professionalism and effectiveness in the management of human resources in business organizations. It responds to the increased demand in the field of human resources management. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of human resources managers is expected to grow almost 10% between 2014 and 2024.
As a student in this concentration, you will be trained in concepts such as managing human behavior in the workplace, employee training and organization development. The concentration was developed in close consultation with an advisory board group comprised of HR educators, as well as HR executives from the public and private sectors.
Management ConcentrationPursue an MBA with a concentration in management and gain expertise in leadership, operations, human resources and business development. With an MBA from Cal State Fullerton's business college, you'll have the skills to improve the performance of organizations by leading people and high-performing teams.
The management concentration allows you to tailor your graduate curriculum to fields like consulting, supply chain planning and human resources based on your unique career goals. Organizational Leadership ConcentrationAs a student in the organizational leadership concentration, you will learn what distinguishes leaders from managers. With an MBA with a concentration in operations and supply chain management, you will have the insights and connections needed for rewarding and impactful careers with giants of the new economy such as Amazon, established firms in every industry seeking new talent for innovation, and small- to medium-sized enterprises and entrepreneurships.

Prerequisites and Admission Requirements
The Full-Time and Part-Time Master of Business Administration program requires students to submit the following:
