2017-2018's Student Executive Team

The Student Executive Team (SET) is a group of dedicated CSUF Entertainment and Hospitality Manangement (EHM) students using mangerial and leadership skills while supporting the EHM academic program and the Center's short-and-long-term goals and overall vision- connecting EHM students with the industry.

Geli, SET member

MariAngelica Maurille

Geli is in her 4th year at Cal State Fullerton but plans to graduate in Fall of 2018.

Geli has always had a passion for entertainment – whether it was her doing the entertaining or watching the entertainment. Upon doing research on colleges while in high school, the EHM program at CSUF really appealed to her and from there she knew that entertainment is what she wanted to pursue.

Currently, Geli interns for the Newport Beach Film Festival as an Event Coordinator and Production intern and is also the student assistant for the EHM center. She also works part-time at a woman’s fashion boutique, Blue Eyed Girl.

Her dream job is to be talent manager or an agent for an artist, where she would get to work directly with artists and help build their brand and career.

Marina, SET

Marina Soriano

Marina is in her 5th and last year at California State University, Fullerton.

One day she was listening to the radio, and heard a quote that said "Your hobbies, or what you do on your free time, should be your career". Since then, she discovered her passion for being part of a team that created events, and loved seeing everyone's reaction once the event was over. It was then that she realized EHM would help her make this 'hobby' into a reality.

Marina currently does not have an internship, but completed the Disney College Program in 2015 and decided to stay with the company ever since.

Her dream job is to be a wedding planner. She wants to help and be a part of someone's magical first chapter together.

Karen, SET

Karen Vo

Karen is currently a 4th year and expects to graduate in Spring 2019.

Karen first came into CSUF as a Graphic Art Design major then switched to Computer Science and is now currently an EHM major. Still wanting to pursue a career where I can apply my creative and technical skills in my future career, EHM felt like the best concentration option the business department had to offer. She also felt like she belonged in EHM because she wanted to understand the ins and outs of a movie production, video game department, conventions, and travel incentives.

Karen has a wide range of volunteer experience such as helping at Wondercon, SDCC, Casual Connect, Blizzard Entertainment's BlizzCon, local film showings, and more. She hopes to find an internship this summer or fall of 2018.

Her dream job is to work for Sony Interactive Entertainment. Currently, her main focus is getting her foot in the door of any entertainment or traveling company.

Cassandra, SET

Cassandra Perez

Cassandra is in her last semester here at Cal State Fullerton.

She first learned about EHM through the website while applying for colleges in high school. It interested her so much, that it became one of the main reasons she decided to apply to CSUF. One day, Professor Fraser who teaches a few of the EHM core courses, came into her business law class to talk more about the program, and from that point on, she knew EHM was the perfect match for her.

Right now, Cassandra works at a Finance company, engaging in administrative work in addition to being in charge of social media and client events.

Her dream job is to help with the execution of concerts/festivals, and possibly even doing a bit of touring with an artist or band. She would also love to be a part of the experimental marketing team for the sponsors that we see at live events, in hopes to make it a more interactive experience before the show begins.

 Omar, SET

Omar Hernandez

Omar is currently a fourth year at CSUF, but plans to graduate in the spring of 2019. Omar has always wanted to be a manager for an artist, which is why he chose EHM as his concentration. He knew he wanted a degree in business, but with a focus that would allow him to work and succeed in the music industry. Omar works part time and is involved in multiple clubs and organizations here on campus. His dream job is to have his own record label to foster a variety of artists.

Albert, SET

Albert Tran

Albert Tran is senior and a second-year transfer student at CSUF. His interest leads him to declare as an Entertainment and Hospitality Management concentration because of his views in the entertainment and hospitality industry is a unique environment. Albert is seeking an internship for the summer. His dream job is to work in the hospitality industry and possibly work in a management position.

Samia, SET

Samia Ghandour

Samia is currently a senior and is graduating this spring. She has always wanted to be involved in the Entertainment Industry but never knew how to get there. It wasn’t until her second year at CSUF that she found out about the EHM program. Now she is a double concentration declared as an EHM student. Samia currently interns at Warner Bros. Studios with the International Publicity Department. Her dream job would be to establish a career at Warner Bros. and make her mark in the entertainment industry.

shelby, set

Shelby Otwell

Shelby is a senior at CSUF and will be graduating in May. She chose EHM because it sounded like an all-encompassing degree for the career path she wanted. She currently works at The Disneyland Resort and has been with the company for the past 3 years. Shelby would like to stay in the parks preferably in Operations Management.

Stephen, SET

Stephen Thompsen

Stephen is current a senior at CSUF. He chose EHM because he wanted to pursue his passion for entertainment media and management. He currently interns for NBCUniversal, working in Production and Operations in the Cable Entertainment Division. His dream job is to be President or Vice President of Production and Operations for a productive television, film, or music company.

Kayla, SET

Kayla Vidal

Kayla is a currently a senior planning to graduate in May 2018. She chose Entertainment and Hospitality Management (EHM) because she is passionate about all aspects of the industry. The EHM program has allowed her to receive in-depth industry insight and has introduced her to top industry executives. She has previous industry experience working as a Promotions Representative at iHeartMedia, Inc. and interning in the events department at the Rose Bowl. Her dream job is to be an Events Manager at a popular stadium or arena.

Maythe, SET

Maythe Gaytan

Maythe is currently a senior and will be graduating this May. After researching careers and not finding something she absolutely wanted to do, her sister told her about EHM and based on her interests and dream job EHM was a good fit for her.

Currently, Maythe works at a Country Club and is an intern for CSUF Athletics – Special Events and fundraising.

Because of her love for sports, especially hockey, Maythe’s dream job would be to work for the Anaheim Ducks in events and/or marketing.
