Study Abroad
Each year, the Business Honors students have the opportunity to explore portions of the world through an international study tour. Whether in Western Europe, Latin America, or East Asia, students come away with a better understanding of our global economy and what it takes to be a business leader in our globalized age. Destinations are selected by students with faculty approval.
The tour counts as ECON 335 – International Economics, which examines international trade, investment and economic policy. This course will count as academic credit and will satisfy several course and BH requirements.
Site visits to major companies combined with sightseeing of major points of cultural and historic interest, and cultural immersion activities, ensure that a Business Honors study tour will be educational, memorable, and a personal enrichment experience.
With airfare, hotel accommodations, international travel insurance, and ground transportation included in the program fee, Business Honors study tours are both affordable and efficient.

FAQ
Is the Business Honors Study Abroad trip afforadable?
Yes! All active Business Honors students automatically receive a scholarship to assist with the fixed cost of the trip. The study abroad scholarship comes from a pool of funds given to the program by generous donors, which means our scholarship amount per student may vary year to year. Students who attended the Winter 2023 study abroad trip received over $3,000 in scholarship funds, which helped to significantly decrease the out-of-pocket cost per student.
What are the eligibility requirements?
Students must be active students within the Business Honors Program in order to participate in this trip. Students must have completed the prerequisite courses of ECON 201 and ECON 202, be in good academic standing, have a valid passport and visa, comply with vaccination requirements (or be able to provide valid exemptions), and a completed online program application.
Where do students stay during study abroad?
Hotels, all of which are at world-class standards, are selected by the program/tour provider.
Will the classes I take abroad count toward my degree?
Yes! The ECON 335 course counts as 3 units of credit towards your degree. ECON 335 will satisfy the upper division GE Area D requirement, the Global Business requirement, and the enrichment opportunity requirement for Business Honors students within the College of Business and Economics.
