MBA in Organizational Leadership
This new MBA concentration in Organizational
Leadership provides graduate students with an in-depth organizational
leadership curriculum - featuring such topics as organizational dynamics,
power/politics, organizational development, managing change, and team
Mihaylo graduates are not only knowledgeable of overseeing and conducting the internal and external operations of a company, but they have developed superb leadership skills and qualities. Mihaylo graduates are visionary, always motivating and inspiring their employees to achieve the company’s organizational goals. They see the organization as the team, keeping morale and energy high as well as maintaining performance efficiency. Mihaylo graduates can be found in a wide array of leadership and upper management positions in medium to large companies as well as top level positions at a corporation.
In addition to the core foundation curriculum, students individualize their program with a concentration, made up of four elective courses. The courses which create the the organizational leadership concentration are as follows:
MGMT 555 – Leadership Dynamics (3)
This course provides an understanding of the dynamic -interactions of personal characteristics,
technical skills, interpersonal influence, commitment, goals, and power necessary for both leader and follower effectiveness in complex organizations. This course is taught dramaturgically, so you will experience each style of leadership while you learn about it.
|MGMT 588 – Leadership Power and Influence (3)|
MGMT 582 – Organizational Development (3)
Perspectives and theories on organization change and development. Students will be introduced to a variety of concept skills and tools necessary to achieve organizational goals, deal with change and become a successful change agent.
MGMT 525 – Team Leadership Skills (3)
Graduate seminar and workshop to develop hands-on leadership skills to manage high-performance work teams. Topics include methods for self-awareness, making oral presentations, interviewing, stress management, supportive communication, problem solving, influencing and motivating others, managing conflict, empowering, delegating and team building.
