Dr. Teeanna Rizkallah has a Bachelor’s degree in English from California State University, Long Beach, and Master’s and Ph.D degrees from the University of Southern California in medieval English literature. She taught composition courses at USC for 10 years, and also served as the Assistant Director of USC’s Writing Center for 4 years. Dr. Rizkallah has also been a freelance consultant for both academic and professional writing since 1990. She has been a lecturer in the Business Communication program at California State University, Fullerton since 2000.
Her primary publications are textbooks and websites devoted to developing writing skills. They include material contributed to two composition books by Dr. Irene Clark (CSUN), the Writing Online Workshop with Dr. Dana Loewy (CSUF), Business Communication Design with Pamela Angell (Hudson Valley College), and the design and partial content of Aplia’s Business Communication product. She recently worked with an AI built by Vantage (a Cengage subsidiary) to teach the computer how to grade student work.
Personal interests include Arthurian literature, cyberpunk, and new technology. Dr. Rizkallah is also an avid computer gamer. She was the Creative Director and co-Chair of the Board for Rogue Agent Games in 2001, and serves as Director for a text-based online RPG MUSH. In 2005, she wrote the libretto for Maskerade: the Opera, based on the novel by Terry Pratchett and with his consent (music by Jared Samborski). She’s currently developing videos for the MCBE on soft skills. Dr. Rizkallah lives in Pasadena with her cat, a graphic artist, and a lot plants.
